Lens Savers® are crystal optics that shield focusing lenses and other optical components of a laser from damage arising from the spatter discharged during laser welding or cutting.  Lens Savers® windows not only extend the life of focusing lenses, but also can prevent catastrophic failures which occur when a lens is pierced and the delicate internal optical components of the laser are contaminated.  For CO2 lasers, the principal optical material used as Lens Savers® windows is synthetic single crystal potassium chloride (KCl).

  • Amada Fiber Laser

Lens Savers® adapters for 220mm, 190mm and 150mm focal length heads are available for Amada Fiber Laser systems. The function of the adapter is twofold. It creates a small cavity between the focusing lens and the Lens Savers® window into which high-pressure assist gas will flow. As a result of the high pressure assist gas flowing into the cavity between the focusing lens and the Lens Savers® window, there will be high pressure on both surfaces of the Lens Savers® window, which has the effect of creating an environment of the Lens Savers® window where there is no positive pressure on either side of the window. Creating this pressure neutral environment prevents the Lens Savers® window from breaking under the pressure of the assist gas. Second, the adapter is designed to circulate the assist gas to prevent overheating the optics. Excessive heat will alter the focal length of the focusing lens.

  • Bystronic

These lens mount adapters fit inside of the Bystronic OEM lens mounts. They can be used with both 5.0" and 7.5" focal lengths. These adapters must be used with ICL's patent pending pressure bypass windows.
The adapter enables users of Bystronic cutting systems to use Lens Savers® under high pressure. The components of the adapter fit inside of the Bystronic OEM lens mount.
The adapter provides means to accommodate the additional space taken by the Lens Savers® window when it is placed inside of the Bystronic OEM lens mount. It also allows the assist gas pressure to pass into a cavity between the Lens Savers® window and the lens, which results in the pressure on both sides of the window being equalized. The assist gas passes through holes drilled around the perimeter of the window outside of the optical path of the laser beam. ICL's patent pending pressure equalization method prevents the Lens Savers® window from breaking by providing an environment in which the pressure around the windows is equalized.

  • LaserLab

The lens mount adapters are designed to attach to the Laser Lab OEM lens mount in laser cutting systems which employ 1.5" diameter focusing lenses. These adapters can be used interchangeably with either 5.0" or 7.5" focal lengths.
ICL's Laser Lab lens mount adapter enables users of Laser Lab cutting systems which employ 1.5" diameter lenses to use Lens Savers® under high pressure. The adapter attaches to the OEM Laser Lab lens mount by means of an interface which replaces the threaded retaining ring in the OEM lens mount. An "O" ring is mounted on the external circumference of a cylindrical connector assembly which extends from the interface. The portion of the adapter which contains the Lens Saver® window simply snaps on over the "O" ring.
The adapter provides a holder for the Lens Savers® window which is easily removed simply by pulling it off of the "O" ring on the connector assembly. Lens Savers® window can be removed without disturbing the focusing lens. The adapter also allows the assist gas pressure to pass into a cavity between the Lens Saver® window and the lens, which results in the pressure on both sides of the window being equalized. ICL's patent pending pressure equalization method prevents the Lens Savers® window from breaking by providing an environment in which the pressure around the window is equalized.

  • Amada 1.1

This lens mount adapter enables users of systems with 1.1" diameter lenses to use Lens Savers® windows under high pressure. The adapter attaches to the OEM or replacement lens vendors lens mount by means of a cylindrical connector assembly which has an "O" ring mounted around its circumference. The connector assembly has a female taper which mates with the tapered end of the OEM lens mount to which it is permanently bonded using epoxy resin.
The adapter provides a holder for Lens Savers® window which is easily removed simply by pulling it off of the "O" ring on the connector assembly. The Lens Savers® window can be removed without disturbing the focusing lens. The adapter also allows the assist gas pressure to pass into a cavity between the Lens Savers® window and the lens, which results in the pressure on both sides of the window being equalized. ICL's patent pending pressure equalization method prevents the Lens Savers® windows from breaking by providing an environment in which the pressure around the windows is equalized.
Since there are many manufacturers of very similar 1.1" diameter lens mounts, each with a unique taper angle and length on the work end, it is recommended that customers send ICL one of their lens mounts for installation of the adapter to assure that the connector assembly fits the mount properly. Specify the manufacturer of your laser or your replacement lens vendor who supplied the lens mount when ordering this adapter.

  • Mazak1.5&2"

There are several configurations of Lens Savers® adapter mounts available for Mazak CO2 Laser Cutting Systems.
The original lens mount adapters are designed to attach to Mazak OEM lens mounts with either 1.5" or 2" diameter focusing lenses. These adapters attach to the OEM Mazak lens mount by replacing the threaded retaining ring in the OEM lens mount. The Lens Savers® window fits inside of a cavity within the rebuilt threaded retaining ring.
Alternatively, there are also Lens Savers available for Auto-Focus Mazak CO2 Laser Cutting Systems. These are designed to fit SuperTurbo STX 510 Auto Profiler and other Mazaks with Automatic Lens Moving Torch. The first component of the Lens Saver® Mount for Mazak auto focus systems is a replacement guide; specific OEM part numbers for parts replaced can be found in the individual descriptions of the replacement adapters. For identification purposes, the guide is a slotted aluminum cylinder for which the ICL replacement part is approximately 3.5” in length for the 7.5” focal length torch and approximately 1” in length for the 5” focal length torch. There is also a lens mount. The lens mount body is internally threaded and contains an internal flange on which the Lens Savers® window is supported. The Lens Savers® window is held in place by a male threaded retaining screw.

  • MitsH

These lens mounts are designed to replace the OEM lens mount in Mitsubishi H model (HC, HD etc.) laser cutting systems which employ either 1.5" or 2.0" diameter lenses. The lens mounts can be used interchangeably for both 5.0" and 7.5" focal lengths.
ICL's lens mounts for Mitsubishi H model cutting enable use of Lens Savers® window under high pressure. The lens mounts replace the OEM lens mounts.
The Lens Saver® mount is similar to the OEM mount and has the same exterior geometry, but we have added a cavity on the work (cutting) end for the Lens Saver® windows. The mount also allows the assist gas pressure to pass into a cavity between the Lens Saver® window and the lens, which results in the pressure on both sides of the window being equalized. The assist gas passes through holes drilled around the perimeter of the window outside of the optical path of the laser beam. ICL's patent pending pressure equalization method prevents the window from breaking by providing an environment in which the pressure on both sides of the window is equalized.
